Music Influence

I would like to talk about my music influence, which is rock and heavy metal; I
believe that the kind of music you like expresses your personality.
My main influence is classic metal, I love listening to early metal releases, and I
will talk in brief about my favorite bands.

Starting with Iron Maiden of course, as they're the most famous metal band on
earth… their music is magnificent, and no band ever could imitate their style,
this uniqueness made them very popular, but unfortunately, Bruce Dickenson's
voice sucks …. If they had a more powerful vocalist, they would be a real
legend, but unfortunately, no body is perfect.

My favorite vocalist is Ronnie James Dio, he has the most strong and powerful
voice among all heavy metal bands, his classics with rainbow are still shinning till
now, during the short period he joined Black Sabbath, they made together the
most famous metal gigs ( like Heaven and Hell, The sign of the southern Cross,
Children of the sea ), and when he formed his own band ( Dio ), he released two
imaginary albums, which are Holly Diver, and The Last in line, the cover track (
The Last in Line ) is one of the most powerful Metal songs.
But after these two legendary albums ( 1982, 1983 ), he didn't release any
competitive albums, maybe Magica (2000 ) is a light in the dark but his other
albums ( Killing the Dragon, Angry Machines, and Strange Highways ) can not
be compared to his brilliant history.

I'm trying to be brief as I can, but I can not leave without mentioning Judas
Priest, these people are real rockers, in my opinion, their album ( Defenders of the
Faith ) is the best metal album ever released, and ( Painkiller ) is almost the
same, Robert Halford voice is very unique, this guy has an ability to scream and
make u enjoy it  … I listened to all their albums starting from Rocka Rolla ( 1974
) till Painkiller ( 1990 ) , after Halford left, I didn't like neither there new influence,
nor their new vocalist.

Savatage made themselves famous with 3 albums, Hall of the mountain King,
Gutter Ballet, and Streets ….. The first one is really powerful, Jon Oliva did his best
as a vocalist, and Chris Oliva did the same as a music writer, Gutter Ballet is
lighter but very impressive as well ….. and streets is the first rock opera released,
this was very unique.
After Chris Oliva passes away in a tragic car accident, the band tried to imitate
his style and released Handful of Rain, Dead Winter Dead, and The Wake of
Magellan …. They did their best actually, the lyrics are very impressive, but the
music just misses Chris Olive's touch …. Also Jon Oliva lost his powerful tone, I
don't know if this is due to his obvious weight gain or maybe drinking problems.

Now I will mention a few talented bands for anybody who's new to metal music,
Halloween, Queens Ryche, Def Leopard, ACDC, Nirvana, Rainbow, Deep Purple,
Van Halen, and Accept.
For progressive rock, just try to listen to Journey, Alan Parsons Project, Camel,
Eloy, and Dire Straights.
And finally for modern and alternative rock, I prefer Creed, Maroon 5, Hobbas
Tank, and Evanescence.

Finally, I would like to say that I have a huge mp3 collection, which includes
many songs for the bands I mentioned above; also I almost have all their lyrics
…. For anybody who needs anything of that, just email me, and I'll be pleased to
respond.
